The new Midland Station precinct created between Helena and Cale Street replaced and relocated ageing station infrastructure through:
- Closure of Helena Street crossing to create new public spaces and safe connections between the bus interchange and station.
- New 12-stand bus interchange and multi-storey car park with over800 bays.
- Building a new level crossing at Cale street though extension of the road south to Yelverton Drive.
- Approximately 1km shared path north of the rail corridor connecting to the existing cycle network at Morrison Road and Lloyd St.
- 1.7km of new dual track connecting into the Bellevue Depot and facilitating the extension to Bellevue.
